Energy-efficient use of self-generated PV electricity
At the end of April 2020 the time had come! The first closed pilot phase of the field test for the SIT4Energy project has started. The SIT4Energy project is designed to provide end customers with regenerative generation plants (so-called prosumers) with an intelligent energy management tool to use the electricity they generate themselves (e.g. from PV systems) as effectively as possible, to consume it themselves and thus to increase the degree of self-sufficiency.
Currently, eight participants with a corresponding system constellation (e.g. PV system on the roof of the building or a combined heat and power unit in the basement) are testing the preliminary version of the developed energy management dashboard. The aim is to use the tool and the graphics and evaluations it contains to inform end customers that they are using as much self-generated electricity as feasible at the best possible time for energy consumption. This improves the personal CO2 footprint and helps reduce electricity costs.
Highest efficiency for the least effort directly from the utility at the point of use
Active feedback from the participants on the functions developed so far helps the project team to set up an updated and nearly bug-free version of the dashboard for the upcoming open field test. This will start at the beginning of June 2020 and last until October 2020. For this long test period, up to 90 participants (mainly prosumers or self-sufficient customers) are invited and encouraged to actively use the dashboard.
